Karinderya Beginner Guide — Run Your Filipino Eatery
Karinderya is a goofy co-op restaurant sim by SILOG, built around one idea: you own a Filipino street eatery and you want it to become the first 5-star karinderya on the block. The gameplay is hands-on cooking and serving — no idle automation does the work for you. This guide covers the tutorial, the core loop and the quirks (closing time, shop restocks) based on the official description and verified in-game footage.
1. What the tutorial teaches you
Your first minutes walk you through a restaurant’s minimum setup, in order:
- Place a table. Customers need somewhere to sit before anything else happens.
- Place chairs. A table without seats serves nobody.
- Set up a stove. The stone stove is your first cooking station — every dish you sell starts here.
- Take your first order. A customer sits down and you press Take Order.
- Serve the food. The stove cooks automatically once an order is in; grab the finished dish and hand it to the customer who ordered it.
The code redemption box also unlocks only after you finish the tutorial — so if you are here for the codes on our codes page, complete these steps first.
2. The core loop: order, cook, serve, clean
Every shift runs the same four beats:
- Take the order. Customers queue up and you take their orders yourself — seating, ordering and serving are all manual.
- Let the stove cook. Once an order is placed, cooking happens on its own. You do not time anything; the stove finishes the dish by itself.
- Serve the right customer. Grab the finished plate and hand it to the customer who ordered it. Mix-ups cost you the sale — in live footage, serving the wrong table sometimes means the customer walks without paying.
- Clear the mess. Finished customers leave dirty tables behind. Clearing table messes keeps new customers happy, and cleanliness feeds directly into your star rating.
3. Watch closing time
Karinderya runs on a day cycle. The game warns you when the restaurant is about to close — in gameplay footage, a three-minute countdown appears before closing. When night falls, customers stop coming and you wait for morning to reopen. Use the quiet hours to plan your shopping list, because…
4. The shop runs out of stock
This is the twist that makes Karinderya different from most tycoons: the furniture shop has limited stock. Tables, chairs and stoves can sell out, and when they do you wait for a restock — sometimes minutes, sometimes longer. Experienced players buy spare tables and chairs early while stock lasts, so a sold-out shop never stalls their expansion. Our shop and equipment guide goes deeper on this.
5. Chasing 5 stars
The official description sets the goal plainly: “Be the first 5-star owner.” Your rating rises from happy customers and clean tables, and drops when orders go wrong. Two practical rules:
- More seats, more orders. Every table and chair you add raises how many customers you can serve per shift — but only if you can keep up with the orders, which is where co-op comes in.
- Do not bite off more than you can cook. A queue you cannot serve is worse than a smaller full house. Balance furniture against your actual serving speed.
6. Bring friends — it is a co-op kitchen
Servers hold up to 6 players, and the game is openly described as a co-op restaurant simulator. Division of labor works: one player on orders, one on cooking and serving, one on cleaning. A coordinated kitchen serves far more customers per shift than a solo owner scrambling between every task.
7. Expect bugs — and report them
The official description ends with “Expect Bugs*”. Live footage confirms small ones already: order text occasionally fails to appear above customers. Nothing game-breaking has been documented, but if a customer freezes or an order vanishes, re-entering the shop or re-seating the customer usually fixes it. The official Karinderya Discord is where bug reports and fixes get posted.
